He started as an occasional guitarist for Tina Turner and The Supremes, formed his band Jimmy James & The Blue Flames, then the more popular Jimi Hendrix Experience, played at major events such as the Monterey Festival, played a memorable concert at Woodstock and released albums such as: Are you experienced? (1967); Axis: Bold as Love (1967); Electric Ladyland (1968); Smash Hits (1969); and Band of Gypsys (1970).
In 1970, Jimi Hendrix died in London of barbiturate intoxication, but beyond passing into another state, he became the legend of the electric guitar. After his death, countless albums, compilations and tributes were published; one of the last to be released was: Valley Of Neptune.
